Summary of the project:We made multiple experiences that the presence and cooperation of committed foreign trainee students have influence on our work. Trainee students and volunteers ask questions and challenge us, our work and our way seeing things and dealing with them this way. As well for the volunteer as for the affiliating institution the cooperation is enrichment. On the basis of the plan for the week the volunteers decide for an activity according to their own personal main focus. It is possible to support the childcare or to organise the activities in a children's game group (10-15 children without mother, 2-3 years old) together with two educators in the morning from 08:45 to 11:45. If the volunteer like to work with children this kind of work gives much pleasure. The lunch break usually takes place from 12-13 o'clock. Within the scope of the Youth education place a couple of courses take place in the afternoon. Depending on their main focus the volunteers can operate and assist the course-leader in the creative or musical field or in other fields like for example environmental education. For instance a volunteer managed the recorder course or offered a foreign language course for young people. When volunteers like to work with school children one can be appointed in the open all-day school and assist the pedagogical employees in the afternoon from 13 o'clock or they can organise some leisure facilities on their own. There are many possibilities ranging from Spanish language courses or French cooking to offers for sports. In the field of international youth exchange we regularly await groups from middle- and eastern- Europe who can be accompanied by the volunteers. The course-leader can also be assisted here in the preparation as well as with the performing. Maps, "rallies" and games can be developed. The volunteers often take over creative tasks. We constantly need flyers for courses and trips or tickets and posters for events. The volunteers frequently arrange a homeland evening and introduce their country with pictures, sounds, lyrics and music. We will find out the interests and skills here, too. One has many possibilities in our institution and can define his main focus self-contained according to ones interests and also realise own ideas because we are working in a small team and make decisions on short way.
